With its black sand, the beaches on La Palma may look a bit different, but don't worry! Sunbathing and swimming make as much fun as it used to be. You've got the choice between small and lonely beaches or those, which are more popular and surveilled and protected by lifeguards.
The beach of Puerto Naos was "build" by a vulcanic eruption in the 20th century. The new boardwalk gives a special atmosphere and connects the beach with the hotel nearby. The beach is protected by lifeguards the whole year and the climate conditions are quite always perfect.
The beach in Puerto de Tazacorte is one of the most popular beaches and is high frequented especially in the wintertime with the mild and sunny climate conditions. The seawalk goes from the beach to the new amplified port. The beach is protected by lifeguards.
Not far from Puerto Naos you find the beautiful bay of Charco Verde. It is one of the most beautiful beaches and child-friendly. But there is no surveillance by guards, so please be careful with the ocean, which can be very unpredictable.
Before called "Playa Nueva", this beach is located near Puerto Naos and its small settlement La Bombilla. A small restaurant provides food and drinks, and there is also a new boardwalk near the sea.
Not everybody likes Los Cancajos because of its appearance like a place of mass tourism. Nevertheless, the nice beach is worth a visit and during the summertime the beach is mostly abandoned, while the inhabitants do not come here.
